Velaria "Nana" Fowler, 62, of Smithville, passed away on January 10, 2025, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Born on January 24, 1962, in Orange, California to parents, James Randel and Marcill (Moore) Fowler.
She was a daughter, sister, mother, Nana and friend who left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. She was affiliated with Smithville First Assembly of God Church.
Education was a significant part of Velaria's journey. She earned her associate’s degree with the same determination and spirit that she applied to all aspects of her life.
Velaria dedicated herself to the well-being of others as a Nutritionist at the Choctaw Community Center in Battiest.
Velaria's interests were as vibrant and joyful as her personality. She enjoyed visits to the casino, where she shared laughter and good times with friends. Her love for her grandchildren was immeasurable, and she cherished every moment spent with them. The memories created during her yearly family vacations were treasures that she held dear.
Velaria's journey on this earth may have concluded, but the love she shared and the lives she touched will endure forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Marcill and Jo Fowler, her brothers, David and Mark Fowler.
Velaria leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Alisha Futrell and Albert of Smithville, Misty Brown and Theo of Valliant and Cody Little of Smithville; special friend, Danny Robinson of Texarkana, AR; grandchildren, Melanie Baily and Tristan, Lanie Futrell, Trevan Futrell, Taitan Futrell, Zayvion Brown, Tre Brown, Drayden Brown, Chase Brown and Natalie Little; great-grandchildren, Weston Webb, Claira Smith and Brexley Bailey; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M., Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services are set for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Smithville Assembly of God Church, Smithville, OK with Jerry Ford officiating. Interment to follow at Octavia Cemetery, Octavia, OK.
