Velda Sue Scarberry Obituary

Velda Sue Scarberry was born on August 7, 1941 in Bethel, Oklahoma to Bonnie and Burn James (BJ) LeForce and passed away surrounded by her loving family on December 9, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. 


Sue was a hairdresser by trade and regarded her customers as some of her closest friends. She loved to garden and spend time outside working in her flower beds. Her greatest joy in life was raising her daughter Donna and watching her family grow.  She is severely missed and leaves a void that no other will ever fill.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie and BJ, her younger brother, Jerry LeForce, and her niece Sunshine Gross. 


She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Leonard Scarberry of Heavener, OK  her daughter and son-in-law Donna and Lee Morris of Howe, OK, her grandchildren: Chris and wife Sommer Morris of Houston, TX, Katie Morris and partner Michael Samel of Gulfport, MS, and Connor Morris of Fort Smith, AR, her brothers Jimmy and wife Carol LeForce of Bethel, OK, Ronnie and wife Song LeForce of California, Keith and wife Codee of Thompson Falls, MT, sisters Sharon and husband Lane Perrin of Battiest, OK, Rita and husband Eddie Liles of Heavener, OK, Genie and husband James Doyle of Broken Bow, OK, sister-in-law Beajay LeForce of Clebit, OK, and special friend Toot of North Carolina, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 


Graveside Services are set for 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2023 at Bethel Cemetery, Bethel, OK with Bro. David Hardin officiating.
