Vernie Warren Burleson, 74, of Broken Bow, passed away on March 22, 2021 in Texarkana, TX.
The son of Jim Burleson and Alice Bell (Watson) Burleson, Vern was born on August 13, 1946 in Plainview, TX. He worked 23 years for the Idabel Fire Department. He retired in 2002 and enjoyed his retirement woodworking, hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. His family was his greatest joy and the time he shared with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Larry Burleson and his grandmother, Annie Watson.
Vern leaves to honor his life, four children, Chad Burleson and his wife, Priscilla, of Broken Bow, Gina Butler and her husband, Mel, of Idabel, Craig Poindexter and his wife, Angie, of Broken Bow and Jeff Burleson of Broken Bow; sister, Ann Newton and her husband, Kenny Ray, of Odessa, TX, Jeannette Marley and husband, Gene, of Buda, TX; grandchildren, Tiffany Nicole Nichols and Wyatt, of Broken Bow, Justin Warren Burleson of Broken Bow, Kylan Butler of Idabel, MaKenley Butler of Idabel, Alan and Jacob Poindexter of Broken Bow ; great-grandson, Waylon Nichols of Broken Bow; his beloved partner for over seventeen years, Linda Gates of Broken Bow; many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the Forrest Hill Cemetery with Rev. Philip Snow officiating.
