Veta "Adell" Parsons Scott, a cherished soul known affectionately as Adell, peacefully passed away on January 15, 2026, in Garvin, Oklahoma, at the age of 91. Born on January 27, 1934, in Egypt, Oklahoma, to the late George and Veta Decker, Adell's vibrant spirit and loving nature touched the lives of all who knew her.
Adell's zeal for life was matched by her dedication to her community and the joy she found in simple pleasures. She was renowned for her hard work and her love of running up and down the roads. Music brought a special light into her life, and her love for her children and grandchildren was unparalleled. Adell always had something to say, whether good or bad, and her candid nature was a source of both wisdom and humor for those around her. Her ability to speak her mind, coupled with her capacity to love unconditionally, made her an unforgettable presence.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, O. A. Parsons, and her late husband, Cortez Scott; her parents, George and Veta Decker; her sons, Guy Lee Decker and Paul Allen Parsons; her brothers, Ula Decker and Johnny Decker; and her grandchildren, Ula Bob Parsons and Gracie Parsons.
Adell leaves to cherish her memory her children, BJ Parsons and family; Jessie and Kathy Parsons; Robert and Sarah Parsons; as well as numerous grandchildren, other relatives, and friends who were all dear to her.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Clifton Cemetery, Emory, Texas.
