Wendell Morris

Wendell West Morris passed from this life in Broken Bow on Friday, November 17, 2023. at the age of 86. He was born August 12, 1937 in Horatio, AR, the son of JB Morris and Ganell West Morris.

Wendell was a lifetime resident of the area. He was a 1956 graduate of Broken Bow High School and received his master’s degree in forestry from Oklahoma A&M. He then began a lifetime career in the forestry industry working for Dierks, Weyerhaeuser, and finally teaching Forestry at Cossatot Community College in DeQueen, AR.

Wendell was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish. He was a big fan of the Broken Bow Savages having been a Savage player back in high school. Wendell loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Francis Morris; and brother, Bobby Morris.  

Wendell leaves to cherish his loving memory his daughter, Melissa Ann (Morris) Rich and son-in-law, Donny Rich of Broken Bow; grandchildren, Dakota and Jaye Rich of Auburn, Maine; Madison and Payton Ferguson of Redland, OK; Jackson Rich and Kenzy Edmondson of Stillwater, OK; great-grandchildren, Dallie Jo Ferguson and Shade Slack Ferguson; a special caregiver, Debra Howell; several other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Bunch-Singelton Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral Services are set for 2 pm, November 22, 2023 at the Broken Bow Cemetery with Bro Clint Bray officiating.
