Willa Lea Baggs, 81, of Pickens, received her crown of jewels on April 9, 2020.

She was the daughter of Robert A. and Willie P. (Cantrell) Watt and was born on July 29, 1938 in Tuskegee, Oklahoma. On December 22, 1952, Willa Lea Watt and J.M. Baggs, were joined in marriage, they got to enjoy each other’s company for 67 wonderful years. She and J.M. moved to Pickens in 1963 and went into the poultry business in 1969.

Willa Lea was a faithful member of the Pickens Holiness Church and loved attending services there. She was very caring and compassionate; always checking on her friends and neighbors. Willa Lea also loved working side by side with J.M. in the hayfields or whatever else needed to be done. She enjoyed watching her grandkids at the livestock shows and she worked diligently to raise funds to support the McCurtain County youth at the Free Fair and Spring shows.
