Willie Mae Standley was born June 15, 1924 and departed this life October 9, 2020. She was a devoted wife and mother and lived a life of service to others. She was a dedicated help mate to her husband as he pastored churches for over four decades. She attended seminary at his side and filled many roles in the church as Sunday School teacher, leader of women’s groups, and counselor. She lived her life as an example to others. She loved nothing more than gathering with her church family. Her hands were never idle whether she was cooking for family and friends, sewing clothes for herself and her daughters, making hundreds of pairs of house shoes that she gave away, or the beautiful quilts that are now family heirlooms.
Mrs. Standley is survived by four daughters, Lana Stephens, Marilyne Nunley (Chris), Debbie Miller (Garry), and Brenda Locke (Bob); thirteen grandchildren, and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Harold Standley; her daughters Betty Tatum, Wilma Hatcher, and Judy Beck; her son-in-law, Harry Stephens; and her granddaughter Janet Tatum.
An Immediate Burial for Willie Mae will be held, Monday, October 12, 2020, at 2:00 PM, at the Broken Bow Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
