Wilma “Sue” Kincaid, 89, of Holly Creek, OK, passed away from this life into the arms of her Savior on December 29, 2022.
Sue was born in Old Hochatown, OK, the daughter of Arnold and Dora Kincaid. She attended school through the 8th grade in Hochatown. She graduated from Eagletown High School in 1951, as Salutatorian. She attended and graduated from Southeastern College in Durant, OK in 1953.
She spent the next 38 years teaching at the Oklahoma School of the Deaf in Sulphur, OK, where she impacted the lives of 100’s of students. She was chosen “Teacher of the Year” for the state of Oklahoma in 1983. She was twice voted “Volunteer of the Year” by McCurtain County Retired Teachers Association. After retirement Sue continued teaching the deaf at Broken Bow’s 1st Assembly of God for 30 years.
Sue was a devout member of her church, a board member of Loving Hands Ranch 1985-2015. She was a determined supporter of the Old Hochatown Church and served on the cemetery board for many years. She attended and spoke in support of the incorporation of the new Hochatown.
Sue is survived by her beloved sister, Wilda Hendrix of Idabel; 2 nephews; 3 nieces; Herman Kincaid, Gary Kincaid, Sandra Dennis, Paula Jenkins, and Patricia Kolb. She also has many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Lance, and Lennel Kincaid; niece Karen Wilkinson.
As a sister, daughter, aunt, teacher and as a friend, Sue lived her faith in Jesus and witnessed God’s love to everyone she came into contact with.
The family would like to thank the employees of Enhabit Home Health and Elara Caring Hospice for their wonderful loving care of Sue.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the First assembly of God in Broken Bow, OK. Interment will be at Hochatown Cemetery.
