Lester, Paula and Martha

Our deepest sympathy to you. Alice was a sweet lady. Her love and concern for her family and friends were amazing. I remember a visit with her and Lester earlier this year. I called her from the hospital to spend the night. I got there, she made coffee, put snacks on the table. It was one of those special times with them. She just had a way of giving you a warm welcome! I will miss her visits with me at work. She would stop by after seeing her heart doctor. Alice was truly a special person in my life. God bless Lester, Paula, Martha, Randy and Ramon! Love and Prayers

Alice (Bassham) Covingon was a cousin to my mother, Peggy (Knox) Johnson. Mom's mother was Sue (Jones) Knox. Although I never got to meet her, I did know Alice's mother, Prue (or "Aunt Prue" to us), as well as her sister Georgia, and also know her sisters Drucilla and Janice. I just wanted to send my deepest sympathy to her family. I loved her obituary - she must have been an extraordinary lady. Will be sending a copy of her obituary to Loxla (Cockrell) Moxley, who is also a cousin. With love from a descendant of the Forney Jones branch of the family...

Alice was a wonderful lady and she will be greatly missed. We spent many hours at the old
house when the kids were little and had such good times. So glad you were able to come to
see us at our place. We had a nice time. You will stay in our prayers.

Martha,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. You will miss your Mother in this life but I know you will see her in the next life. My girls still remember their visit to your parent's cabin in the woods so many years ago and the fun time with Lester and the great cooking by Alice. They stayed so busy entertaining the girls and their friends. Stay well and may God put His healing hand on you heart.
