Violet was born on May 21, 1956 in Brawley, California to Earnest & Ester Evans. She was the seventh born of their seven children.  She married Larry McDonald on March 27, 1975. They became proud parents of three children: Christopher, Tony, and Lori. She lived in Broken Bow, Oklahoma in McCurtain County most of her life. She and her husband attended Victory Life Church.

She was always a totally devoted wife and mother. Besides being a wife, mother, and homemaker…she even found time to work at Wal-Mart for about fifteen years or so. She also helped Larry run a business or two. She was a pretty good car saleswoman. She was also pretty good at trading her own car in for a new one. Sometimes it seemed like she was driving a different vehicle every month. Violet and Larry spent a lot of time going to drag strips, but she always made Larry run the races. She was very proud of him.

She was always praised as an excellent cook and really enjoyed putting a meal on the table. Through the years, she was always in charge of family reunions, and she really enjoyed her role. She took a great deal of pride and satisfaction in making sure that everyone got together and had plenty to eat. That always made her smile.

She was the baby of the family, so, of course, she got her way quite often. We just had to learn to live with it…and we did. We loved her and felt blessed to have her.

She was always willing to help. She truly was all about family…that always was the center of her life. She would not have wanted it any other way. We will be forever thankful for that and all her love that she so freely gave.

Because of her name (Violet), she was nicknamed “Little Flower”, and she claimed   the color “purple” to no end. She was the most wonderful and beautiful “Little Violet Flower”. Her precious little purple petals shall never wither and will be with us forever and always.

She leaves her legacy for caring and kindness in our hearts and in our minds. Her passing leaves us with a great void that will forever remain. We are both fortunate and thankful for the opportunity to have been blessed with sharing her life, her dreams, her thoughts, her stories, her faith, and her great enduring love.  She was dearly loved by a multitude of people. She cherished that love and kept us all in a special part of her heart. We will miss her greatly, but we will always have her with us as we hold her life, her memories, and her love in her special place within our own hearts.

Thank you Violet (Wife, Mother, Sister, and Daughter)…we love you “Little Flower”.

Her passing was preceded by the passing of her Mother and Father: Ester Evans in 2013 and Earnest Evans in 2002.

She is survived by: Larry McDonald (husband of 43 years), Sons: Christopher and Tony McDonald, daughter: Lori Harris, (son-in-law Lejay Harris), three brothers: Jerry Evans, Alvie Evans, Jess Evans, three sisters: Rosie Thomas, Flossie Fast, Emma Hancock, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
